Ethical Policy
Asgard Ethical Business Policy
Asgard (A Trading Division of Flexiform Business Furniture) is committed to applying an ethical approach to every aspect of our business practices, Our ethical policy has been created after consultation with customers, and independent organisations to establish which issues we should address as a British supplier and manufacturer. As part of the Flexiform family, we are a highly accredited company having been a government supplier for over 30 years. Our businesses are regularly audited by independent organisations not just for our products and accounts, but also for quality, Health and Safety and our Environmental impact. Our policies are periodically reviewed (annually) to ensure that they accurately reflect current thinking.
Asgards ethical policy is in place to safeguard products and producers, not only in our immediate environment, by means of health and safety and equal opportunities, but also in the wider context to ensure our materials are sourced responsibly. Though not required, Asgard makes special considerations to supporting charities, organisations, and communities as well as Britains professional athletes. We also offer support for our own employees with Medical policies and mental health support. All this helps us to create a happy, healthy, saf,e and ethically sound environment.
We have a comprehensive, Integrated Business Manual, Management Systems, and a Business Policy Statement which covers our production environments and operating methods in addition to those of our suppliers and waste management/ recycling contractors. Asgard is committed to proper Corporate Governance and always adheres to current best practices
Asgard has a number of policies in place including Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies, all of which are the foundation of our ethical policy, along with the introduction of our Anti-Bribery, Fraud, and Corruption Policies.
Our Ethical Policy covers three key areas:
Human Rights: We will support organisations that promote human rights as defined by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Ecological Impact: Reducing our Carbon Footprint, unsustainable harvesting of natural resources like timber, and the manufacture of harmful chemicals.
International Development: As part of this policy, Flexiform requires our suppliers to respect the Core Conventions of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) on issues such as child labour and freedom of association. Although we do not directly use suppliers outside of the UK, we do however expect our suppliers to ensure that their overseas business reflects our policy.
Asgard understands there are numerous subjects concerning Ethical trading, but we have focused on the ones we feel are most relevant to our specific sectors.
